Yonderland is set to return for a second series, it has been confirmed.

The family comedy debuted to rave reviews in its first series and now Sky 1 has announced it will be back for another run in 2015, according to the Radio Times.

The hit show is about a housewife (Martha Howe-Douglas) who discovers a portal to another realm in her kitchen cupboard, and is written by and stars CBBC’s Horrible Histories team.

The Wrong Mans’ Mathew Baynton is one of Yonderland’s stars and writes the series along with Martha, Simon Farnaby, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond.

Yonderland was nominated for a 2014 Rose D’Or in the sitcom category, and is due to begin filming again in the autumn, to screen next year.

Yonderland’s team have recently finished filming a movie called Bill, which fictionalises William Shakespeare’s ‘lost years’ before becoming a playwright and is due to be released in February 2015.
