Did you spot it?
Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden was left a little red faced during Friday evening’s Sport Relief after he had a hilariously awkward encounter with a member of the audience.
The actor made a special appearance on the BBC’s live charity appeal to surprise a woman called Debbie, who’d been raising money as part of a year-long campaign.
Despite Debbie claiming to be a huge fan of the Strictly favourite, she made a hilarious slip up when Joe sat on her lap and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
“I loved you in Casualty,” said Debbie.
Pulling a face, actor Joe corrected her: “You mean Holby! Holby City!”
That’s live TV for you! And viewers watching at home were left in stitches by the funny gaffe, as one wrote on Twitter: “Favourite moment in #SportRelief audience member saying ‘ooh I love casualty’ to which Joe says ‘Holby, it’s Holby’.”
While another added: “I love casualty” awkward #SportRelief”.
Although Debbie wasn’t entirely wrong as Joe did appear in Casualty back in 2007. The 42-year-old actually played a man who fell down a hole on a stag do and also returned in 2009 as Polly’s stalker, Alistair.
But the telly star is definitely more famous for spending three years playing Raf di Lucca until the character was dramatically shot in a hospital siege in December.
Speaking to us about his decision to leave the show, Joe previously said: “I feel like I’ve played everything you can for a doctor – I’d hate for Raf to just be hanging around in the background and not really doing very much.
“So it’s nice to go out on a high when he’s still in the show and he’s still loved by the viewers. Hopefully people will feel the loss of him.”
The star added of his shock exit: “It didn’t really feel real and I don’t think it will sink in until I’ve finished on Strictly and I’m at home looking back on it all.”
