Stephanie Waring complained that a lot of hard work had gone down the toilet

Stephanie Waring has said she’s “confused” by her controversial Dancing on Ice exit given the fact that her opponent in the skate-off, Lemar, tripped.

Clearly thinking that she’s not the one who should have gone home, the Hollyoaks actress said she was gutted that all her hard work learning to skate had gone “down the toilet”.

Speaking on today’s Lorraine, Stephanie said: “The way I always thought Dancing on Ice was was that the skate-off is just based on that skate and everyone has the chance to improve.

“You go on to improve. I wanted the opportunity to improve on my last skate and grow in the competition just as Lemar, as he does as well. So I was like, we can’t make a mistake, it all rests on this one skate. So I was very confused as to [the fact that] there was a trip and yet I’m the one to go home. It is a lot of hard work just down the toilet, really.”

Stephanie added that she’s had lots of support from her fans. “I’ve had an incredible reaction from the fans and on Twitter. There has been a bit of outrage as well.”

Stephanie, though, made it clear that she holds no hard feelings to her good friend Lemar.

“I love Lemar, I really do he’s one of my closest friends on Dancing on Ice. So to be in the skate-off with him was actually quite difficult. To be in the skate-off with him, I didn’t want to be in that situation.”

Stephanie Waring was the second star to leave the show following the exit of Candice Brown last week.
