Former Holby City and Corrie actress Tina Hobley is out of Channel 4 alpine competition The Jump after she had a nasty fall when a production crew member wandered into her ski jump outrun area.

The 44-year-old suffered a dislocated elbow and two fractures to her arm.

She tweeted her disappointment at having to leave The Jump and and posted a photo of herself in cast with the caption ‘When you sent to jump and find a man in you’re landing area…’:

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “The Jump adheres to the strictest safety protocols to ensure that the health and safety of the competitors is always paramount. Tina’s fall was caused by simple human error when members of the ground crew failed to clear the outrun.

“All those involved have been spoken to and extra procedures have now been put in place by the producers to ensure that this will not happen again.

“We’re very sorry to lose Tina from the competition and wish her a very speedy recovery.”

Tina had high hopes for the competition and told What’s on TV before The Jump began that she was fearless and wanted to do as many of the challenges as possible.

She won her skeleton race against friend Tamara Beckwith last Sunday, when actress Louisa Lytton was eliminated from the series.
