Endeavour

“It’s a rum go and no mistake,” says the very perceptive Thursday as he and Endeavour investigate odd goings-on at an Oxford cinema. When a former cop is poisoned, attention is drawn to the picture house where he spent his final hours. Meanwhile, as arson attacks on Asian immigrants also give cause for concern, Thursday has another cross to bear in the form of his flashy brother Charlie (scene-stealing ex-EastEnder Phil Daniels) who comes to stay. And could romance be on the cards for Endeavour? Rating: *****
