TV Times top picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Wednesday 21st February

Earth’s Natural Wonders, 9.00pm, BBC1 (ex NI)

This beautifully shot three-part series continues with a look
at how indigenous people are using their ancient skills to survive in today’s world. In
the South Pacific, Vanuatu islanders live off the land and sea, but their traditional fishing methods are being severely tested by the effects of climate change. Among those we meet is Nigasau, who is teaching his teenage son to free-dive ever deeper for lobster, going down 10 metres. In Siberia, the Nenet people must brave temperatures of up to minus 50 degrees celsius as they move their herd of reindeer across frozen tundra. The programme begs the question: how long can these people sustain their way of life in a rapidly changing world? Rating: ****

Live Celebrity Haunted Mansion, 9.00pm, W

It’s months until I’m a Celebrity… returns, so, to get your fix of famous faces screaming (and perhaps even weeping!) with fear, draw the curtains, turn off the lights and settle down for
this live five-night frightfest hosted by Christine Lampard and Matt Richardson. Paranormal experts Jack Osbourne and James Hawes will each lead a team of plucky stars, including Simon Gregson and Katie Price, as they undergo terrifying challenges at a haunted Gloucestershire mansion. Each night culminates in a chilling ghost hunt, which ends with two stars leaving the show, before the bravest is crowned champion on Sunday. Continues nightly, with companion show High Spirits at 7.00pm every evening. Rating: ****

Bliss, 10.00pm, Sky One

Andrew (Stephen Mangan) fears his secret double life could be about to unravel this week when wife Kim (Heather Graham) declares she’s started up the United Pothole Action Group to campaign to improve the state of the
roads in Bristol. We find out in flashback that Kim was painfully shy when they met back in 2002, so Andrew’s stunned when Kim reveals she’s planning to speak at
a council meeting. Desperate, Andrew takes drastic steps to undermine his wife’s newfound confidence to ensure that his carefully constructed world remains under wraps. But how long before it all comes crashing down? Rating: ****
