Doctor Foster

Now that the battlelines are well and truly drawn, the scheming from both Gemma and her shifty ex Simon (please can someone wipe that smirk from his face?!) is off the scale as war gets properly under way and the revelations start flying thick and fast. This week, they both try to use Gemma’s sleazy but hapless neighbour and ex-lover Neil to their own ends. Tom remains their major focus, however, and as a desperate Gemma tries to find out what is happening with her beloved son, she has an excruciatingly embarrassing chat with his friend Max. Awkwardness seems to be a theme for Gemma – she also has a hilariously cringey meal with her annoying new colleague Sian and some surprising information comes to light… Rating: ****

Great British Bake Off

Bread week is here! Paul Hollywood’s in his element as he watches the bakers attempt the perfect batch of teacakes in the signature and a classic cottage loaf in the technical. But let’s just say, some of the bakers aren’t quite so thrilled by this week’s challenges… It all builds to a colourful crescendo as the showstopper demands a bright and bold sculpture made of different types of bread. How on Earth do they think these things up? As well as the mouth-watering and ingenious bakes on display, look out for Noel Fielding’s rather excellent smiley-face shirt. Rating: *****
