Long Lost Family: What happened next, 9pm, ITV

We adore the emotional reunions in Long Lost Family but we’re always left wondering how the relatives fare as they get to know each other. Now, in a second run of this lovely spin-off show, Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell return to reveal how things panned out for some of the most memorable families. As half-sisters Cathie and Ann explain that they couldn’t be closer, siblings Maureen and Michael reveal that they have moved on since reuniting seven years ago, four decades after Michael was barred from the family home for being gay. Meanwhile, John shares his joy at meeting Steve, the half-brother he never knew, and so begins another search for more relatives… Rating: ****

Versailles, 9pm, BBC2

King Louis XIV (George Blagden) has had many court favourites through the years, yet Madame de Maintenon (Catherine Walker) looks to be the most ruthless operator of the lot! As this third and final series continues tonight, Louis’ new paramour takes down two rivals with political manoeuvres that Machiavelli would be proud of, but for how much longer can she reject the king’s advances? Elsewhere, Prince Philippe (Alexander Vlahos) refuses to be fobbed off in his quest to learn the identity of the mysterious prisoner in the iron mask, and humble shoemaker Jeanne (played by former Coronation Street star Jenny Platt) risks everything when she accuses Louis of letting his people starve. Springwatch, 8pm, BBC2

It’s the final week at the Sherborne Park Estate and what a treat it’s been! From observing moonlit swimming otters to watching activity in the badger sett, Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and the team have been busy. But this celebration of British wildlife has been tinged with sadness, as we’ve been reminded of the awful effect plastic has on our seabirds. Continues tomorrow. Rating: ***
