TV Times top picks tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Wednesday 28th February

Benidorm, 9.00pm, ITV

Back for a special 10th series, Benidorm kicks off with a big day for one of its unlucky-in-love regulars. Solana manager Joyce Temple-Savage (Sherrie Hewson) is set to wed longtime admirer Monty (John Challis) in a beautiful, island-set ceremony, but after Monty makes a royal mess of things, will the blushing bride still say ‘I do’? Poor Joyce is almost upstaged by bridesmaid Lesley (Tim Healy), too, and Mateo (Jake Canuso) delivers the most insulting Best Man’s speech we’ve ever heard! Later in the series look out for a cameo from former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, and Nigel Havers as dodgy dentist Stanley Keen. An outrageously funny start. Rating: ****

Save Me, 9.00pm, Sky Atlantic

Save Me Claire and Nelly

From the makers of Line of Duty comes this edgy six-part thriller, written by and starring Lennie James (who also starred in the cop drama’s first series). He’s ‘Nelly’ Rowe, whose life is turned upside down when he’s accused of kidnapping his daughter, Jody. Nelly’s arrest brings him back into contact with her mum (Doctor Foster’s Suranne Jones). As Nelly tries to prove his innocence, will old feelings resurface? Rating: ****

The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes, 8.00pm, BBC2

The urge to have a nose around other people’s houses is so strong that another series of this property show was nailed after a single episode of series one. Caroline Quentin and architect Piers Taylor are back as our guides, and among this week’s wows is a Portuguese house that merges into surrounding sand dunes. Rating: ****

More previews tomorrow.
