Joseph winner signs record deal

Sunday 12th August

Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead has signed a major deal with Polydor Records, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The paper reports that the deal is worth £150,000, and that Mead's first album will be released in time for Christmas.

"He's going to be the new Michael Ball - but a lot cooler," a record company insider told the Sunday Mirror.

The 25-year-old Essex boy is currently starring in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in London's West End after being voted winner of the BBC1 show by the public.

The production has received mixed reviews from critics, although Mead's performance has been largely praised.
