Paul Potts is Number One again

Monday 30th July

Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts is celebrating a second week at the top of the album charts.

Paul's debut album, One Chance, has now sold over 200,000 copies. The record went straight to number one in its first week, selling more than the other albums in the top 10 combined.

The former mobile phone salesman staved off competition from big stars to keep the top spot. He outsold American hip-hop star Timbaland, whose album Shock Value is currently at number two, at a rate of 4-1.

Paul, 36, won the first series of ITV1's contest Britain's Got Talent in June. Judge Simon Cowell immediately signed Paul to his record company SyCo Music.

One Chance features operatic numbers such as Nessun Dorma, which Paul performed at the final of Britain's Got Talent. The album also includes songs from popular musicals, such as Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Music Of The Night.

Paul, 36, is due to release One Chance in America this week. He has also scheduled a UK tour to start in January 2008.

ITV are currently taking applications for the second series of Britain's Got Talent.
