The country is England. The year is 1913. And an ordinary schoolteacher called John Smith dreams of going on adventures through time and space in a mysterious blue box.
But, when lights in the sky herald the arrival of something strange and sinister, Smith's maid, Martha, must convince him that he alone can save the world.
On his journey, Smith crosses paths with the Jack Straws - and quickly realises just how scary scarecrows are...
