


New boy Joe has a rather unorthodox approach to policing, which doesn't sit well with his colleagues in Aidensfield.
Joe arrives in Aidensfield to replace outgoing Pc Rob Walker. Unlike Phil Bellamy, a policeman who does everything by the book, Joe sets his own rules - and this doesn't go down at all well with those around him.
Joe's arrival soon causes tension at the station, particularly with Sgt. George Miller, who isn't willing to accept Joe's work ethics.

Glaswegian Joe began his acting career in the Scottish soap Take The High Road. He has also starred in such TV dramas as The Crow Road, Sparkhouse, Sex, Chips and Rock 'n' Roll, as well as the feature film Small Faces.
Joe joins Heartbeat as maverick cop Joe Mason.
