


A boy from the wrong side of the tracks, Pc Rob Walker has worked hard to become what he is today a resourceful local bobby, protecting the community that he grew up in.
Given that his father is in prison for theft, being Aidensfield's local bobby might seem like quite an unusual career choice for Rob. But he takes his job very seriously and does everything he can to protect and serve the local community.
Both divorced and widowed, Rob's wife Helen the local doctor was killed in a house explosion just two weeks after they married. Rob is working through his grief and is slowly beginning to attract a fair amount of female attention in Aidensfield.

Lincolnshire-born Jonathan went to Bretton Hall Drama College, Leeds in 1995, where he completed a theatre arts degree.
Jonathan first caught TV viewers' attention as gay nurse Sam Colloby in the BBC dramas Casualty and Holby City. He first donned a police uniform in the BBC cop drama Merseybeat, as Pc Steve Traynor. This role certainly served him well when, in 2004, he joined the cast of Heartbeat as Pc Rob Walker, Pc Mike Bradley's replacement.
Jonathan - whose hobbies include pool, DJ-ing, mountain biking and poker - leaves Heartbeat in series 17.
