*Heroes returns for a second series on Thursday April 24, at 9pm on BBC2*
After the explosive end to the last series we join the heroes four months later as they struggle to adjust to their new realities.
The story of these ordinary people with extraordinary abilities reached a dramatic showdown in the final episode of series one when Issac's predictions began to unfold. With all the heroes coming together to fight against Sylar, the series ended with Peter's uncontrolled nuclear detonation miles above New York City.
In the second series, the fates of Peter, Nathan and Matt are revealed as their fortunes begin to take new paths. Hiro finds himself in 17th century Japan, meeting his own hero and the rest of the characters try to live inconspicuously, which proves difficult as they are slowly stalked and killed off by a sinister force.
Meanwhile, a new round of deadly threats are released on the world and a second generation of superhumans are being created. Maya (Dania Ramirez) has the ability to cry a deadly disease, while her twin brother, Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz), is the cure. Monica (Dana Davis), another young woman with newfound special abilities, would give up everything to help the people around her.
This epic US drama seems set to keep twisting a tale of dangerous situations and amazing abilities as Clarie, Nikki, Peter and the rest of the heroes continue to battle with their powers.
Whether old or new, as much as the heroes try to hide away and live ordinary lives, their ultimate destiny is still nothing less than saving the world...
