Maya Herrera and Sylar bond over a picnic and Maya manages to control her powers when Sylar goads her. Alejandro is reading a newspaper cutting about Sylar's murder of his mother, and dismisses Maya's wish to see Mohinder with Sylar. Later, Alejandro attacks Sylar, but Sylar uses a knife to kill him. Sylar and Maya reach New York.

Peter Petrelli and Adam Monroe track down Victoria Pratt to find out where the Shanti virus is. Annoyed that Peter and Adam are in cahoots, Victoria shoots them and is about to decapitate Adam, when Peter knocks her unconscious. Peter reads her mind and discovers that the virus is in Texas, and when Victoria tries to shoot Peter, Adam kills her.

When Bob orders his daughter, Elle, to keep an eye on Claire Bennet, a furious Claire confronts Elle and threatens to blow the whistle on The Company. Elsewhere, Claire's blood boosts the antibodies in Mohinder's blood, and Mohinder urges Bob to help him destroy all variations of the virus.

Also, after learning that Takezo Kensei killed his father, Hiro vows to avenge his father's murder, and Niki tells son Micah that she has the virus.
