Kate likes to keep things neat and tidy. A former copper, she quit when she had children with DI John Keenan but their relationship fell apart.
In the first series she applied for a job at Holby South but got a lot more than she bargained for when her and John got back together. Their relationship is rocky though and her attraction to the new DCI does nothing to fix it.
Yorkshire-born Zoe is 33, the daughter of two teachers and was raised in Huddersfield. After leaving drama school at 21 her first job was with the renowned Hull Truck Theatre Company. She has an extensive television CV and has appeared in Coronation Street, Trial & Retribution, Where the Heart Is, Bad Girls and Holby City.
But it's the character of Tanya Tucker in Footballers' Wives which really established Zoe's characters. She says she doesn't share many traits with the voracious, predatory Tanya, though "we're both survivors".
