The second season of Primeval kicked off exactly where the last left off - with zoologist Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall) returning from the past to his 'present' to find the world he knew had drastically altered!
To compound his problems, one of his team members, Claudia Brown, seems to have never existed.
The task laying heavy on Nick's shoulders is to convince his team that their actions have inadvertently altered the course of nature - though he doesn't know what is wrong or how to fix it!
If you missed last series then, basically, there are a series of rips in time ('anomalies') which allow beasts to sneak through and Nick is trying to save the world from them. He is helped by his team including Abby Maitland (ex-S Clubber Hannah Spearritt), Stephen Hart (James Murray) and Connor Temple (Andrew Lee-Potts).
To add to the fun, the anomalies are bigger and more deadly than ever and the team are faced with a phantasmogorical computer-generated family of raptors in a shopping centre and a sabre-tooth at an amusement park. Plus, there's also Nick's estranged ex-wife Helen (Juliet Aubrey) to contend with - and she's almost as scary as the beasts.
Series co-creator Tim Haines says: "For Cutter and his team the new series will present them with a whole new set of problems. I only hope they make it to the end of the filming schedule alive!"
Primeval 2 will run for seven weeks - get your claws into it!
