Hedley wants out!

When war hero Old Nick is tricked into selling a valuable war medal, Maurice and Syd vow to get it back. But Hedley's mind clearly isn't on the job, and when Maurice and Syd confront him, he admits that Helen is pregnant and, facing the prospect of fatherhood, he doesn't want to be in the gang any more.

Maurice and Syd try to talk Hedley round, but he's adamant he's wants out. He thrilled about becoming a dad, and worries that he'll have nothing to offer his child. Maurice is certain it's just a blip and says they must get Hedley back on track - but Syd accuses Maurice of feeling guilty about how he acted when Barbara was expecting.

When Hedley sees some hoodies breaking into a car, he assumes that they don't have father figures, and fears that his child will grow up just the same. Determined to make a difference, Hedley signs up for a charity boxing match. While training Hedley, Maurice and Syd set up a meeting with Old Nick, and Hedley agrees to help for one last time.
