Hedley signs himself up as the third member of the gang because his late father Vernon was a founder member.
Hedley's connection to legendary Invisibles crime gang is his father, Vernon. His dad was a founding member of the original trio, but passed away some years ago.
Hedley, who has been out of jail for six months, wants to follow in his father's footsteps and tracks down Maurice and Syd when he hears that they have returned to England. He's keen to coax them out of retirement into a new life of crime - unbeknown to his wife, Helen (Mina Anwar), who is helping him start afresh with a new pub business.
Helen thinks Hedley is basically a decent bloke who has become a career criminal to prove himself worthy of his father, a highly successful crook.

Dean Lennox Kelly was born in 1975 and grew up in Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire. He's not the only actor in the Kelly clan. His brother is Queer As Folk star Craig.
His big TV break came in the Channel 4 comedy Shameless. Dean played blokey neighbour Kev, who was the other half of Veronica (Maxine Peake) - the pair both left at the beginning of series four. TV has thrown several Shakespeare roles his way - he played Puck in BBC1's modern-day retelling of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Shakespeare himself in the last series of Doctor Who.
His other big love in life is football. He is an enthusiastic Liverpool fan and a very decent player. He took part in the Robbie Williams-inspired Soccer Aid in 2006, and had his picture taken with Pele and Maradona after the game.
