Anthony Adams talks about The One And Only

Thursday 10th January

A frozen food delivery driver by day and Frank Sinatra by night, Anthony Adams has sung his way through the first round of The One And Only

How did you feel when you got up on stage? "It was very nerve-racking to sing for big Sinatra fans in the Sing-off. You always worry if your voice will hold out in those sorts of situations, but I was pleased with how I performed."

Have you had a chance to check out your opposition? "I did catch a glimpse of the Rod Stewart and he seemed very accomplished. They're all very good, though, or they wouldn't have made it through to these stages."

How did you become a Frank Sinatra singer? "Somehow I just clicked with his material and people kept telling me how uncannily like him I sounded. From then it just grew, and I now do weddings and anniversaries. People never tire of an old Frank number."

What's the most difficult thing about being Frank? "I enjoy the whole swing sound and Frank's songs are very special, but also difficult to pull off because his voice range was so incredible. My Way in particular is never the easy one that people think."

Do you think you've done him justice? "David and Carrie Grant have been coaching me, and I've been learning new ways to bring my Frank to life. I do hope I'm doing him justice."
