Can Ormerod help a family at war?

Ormerod and Mr Rose get a shock at a local ice cream parlour when two masked men arrive and ransack the place. After the parlour's injured owner, Maria, tells Ormerod all about her son Lorenzo's drink problem, Lorenzo is brought into casualty after being found at the bottom of some stairs outside a pub.

Eventually, Lorenzo confesses to Ormerod that he arranged for the men to destroy the ice cream parlour after finding out that his wife had been having an affair with his brother. Maria is livid when she is told about the affair and as she berates her son and daughter-in-law, she collapses with heart failure.

Sister Brigid's pregnant sister Moira turns up at The Royal having been thrown out of their parents' home. As the pair argue over Moira's decision to have an abortion, Moira flees and runs straight into the path of Frankie's ambulance. Later, Moira decides to keep the baby and Weatherill and Ormerod invite her to stay with them - as their au pair.

Also, Dr Burnett decides to stay on at The Royal - as Eric's days at the hospital come to an abrupt end when he proposes to Matron. And Lizzie takes a shine to handsome builder Nev while Frankie makes a move on Stella.
