Captain Jack Harkness and his team return to investigate more alien activity in a second 13-part series of the popular Doctor Who spin-off.
Promising to be bigger and bolder than series one, this second high-octane helping follows Captain Jack, played by John Barrowman, and his loyal team as they delve deep into the alien underworld of modern day Cardiff.
As series two kicks off, Captain Jack gets a blast from the past when time-travelling thief Captain John - played by Buffy actor James Marsters - shows up. The two captains used to be partners in crime - and it soon transpires that they were once more than just good friends...
After proving a massive hit for BBC3, Torchwood moves to BBC2 for the second series. Famous for being slightly more risque than Doctor Who, this time round, younger fans will able to enjoy an edited, pre-watershed repeat.
As the series progresses, Captain Jack and his team take on evil alien sleeper cells, save a creature from human exploitation and encounter a memory thief who reveals dark secrets about the entire team.
Writer Russell T Davies says: "This series pushes the Torchwood team further than ever before. It's adventurous, thrilling and packed full of surprises."
And it's packed with guest stars too. Look out for Doctor Who's former sidekick Martha Jones who turns up later in the series. Veteran actor Richard Briers and Ugly Betty's Alan Dale are also set to appear.
