Family drama Wild At Heart returns to ITV1 for a third series - giving viewers the chance to swap the grim British weather for the sunnier skies of South Africa.

Stephen Tompkinson and Amanda Holden are back as husband and wife team, Danny and Sarah Trevanion, who encounter a series of problems running their game reserve, Leopard's Den.

Moving from Bristol to start a new life in South Africa, vet Danny knew that running a game reserve would be no easy task. And the Trevanions certainly ran into some problems in the last series with poachers, inspectors and a horrific lion attack all threatening to ruin their plans to expand the safari park.

As the new series begins, the Trevanions are forging ahead with their expansion plans and Sarah decides that luxury apartments for wealthy clients will solve all their money worries. But the future of Leopard's Den is in doubt when a drought grips the region...

While Amanda Holden has revealed that this series of Wild At Heart will be her last, series three sees the arrival of Jessie Wallace. Best known at EastEnders' Kat Slater, Jessie turns up as brassy Essex girl Amy Kriel, whose husband Elliot has bought Mara, the neighbouring safari park.

Jessie says of Amy: "At first she's a fish out of water compared to the Trevanions who have been a while in Africa. But Amy quickly adapts to the lifestyle because she has to."
