Jade's fortune 'does not exist', say reports

The money built up by former Big Brother star Jade Goody to safeguard her sons' future after her death is less than first thought, say the papers.

According to the News Of The World Jade - who died of cancer in March this year aged 27 - was thought to have accumulated a £6m nest egg for her boys Bobby, six and four-year-old Freddie.

However despite a string of lucrative magazine deals before her death, it is now estimated that only around £800,000 remains - of which £300,000 will go to the Inland Revenue to cover unpaid tax returns.

However the remaining money will still be enough to cover her sons' education - which was one of her dying wishes.

And royalties from her autobiography Catch A Falling Star will also contribute to this, says the paper.

"In her dying days she sold her story, the TV rights to her wedding and also made money from her diary account of her illness," a source said.

"She did it all for her precious boys but when all the bills are totted up there is not as much as she had hoped.

"But the most important thing for Jade was that the boys got a top-class education. Thanks to her they will."
