Britains Got Talent

Britains Got Talent

*Britain's Got Talent returns on Saturday April 16 at 8.20pm on ITV1*

Expect everything from fire-eaters to dancing dogs, as Britain's biggest talent show returns for its fifth series.

Once again, thousands more have auditioned up and down the country - and for the first time on YouTube - in the hope of following in the footsteps of last year's winner, gymnastics troupe Spelbound.

With no Piers Morgan or Simon Cowell at the auditions this year, the hopefuls will have to impress the new-look panel of regular judge Amanda Holden, comedian Michael McIntyre and Hollywood favourite David Hasselhoff.

But which act has what it takes to win the 100,000 pound cash prize and a slot at this year's Royal Variety Performance?

Ant and Dec will be waiting in the wings to congratulate or console the hopefuls, which this year include an opera singer and her tuneful dog, and a man who does something very unusual with fish and chips!

Whatever happens, all of the hopefuls will be keen to showcase their act before being buzzed out by the judges. Three buzzers and it's game over! As usual, the fourth judge - the audience - have the ability to influence the judges' decision.

Having already been a judge on America's Got Talent, former Baywatch actor David has seen his fair share of stars - and shockers! But what does he make of what Britain has to offer?

"Some of the young acts are brilliant," he says. "We've seen a fantastic dog act and some very funny comedians."

Simon Cowell will be returning for the live semi-finals in May, when the public will get the chance to vote for their winner.

"I'm sure Simon will be proud with the acts that we have," says David. "Or he'll hate it all and send me back to America!"
