Ant and Dec are top TV earners

Ant and Dec have been named as the highest paid presenters on British TV, according to the papers.

The Sun reports that the pair are paid a whopping £125,000 per hour each to host Britain's Got Talent - but that bosses at the cash-strapped channel might not be able to match their current salary when their contract expires later this year.

The pair currently have a three year exclusive deal with the channel worth £20m, which also covers their hit shows Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here !

The paper reports that they have also offered ITV a new Sunday night show, but the channel may pass on it - and that it may even be picked up by another channel once the twosome's contract ends.

"It’s brilliant but too expensive for ITV, and other broadcasters are already sniffing around," an ITV insider said.

Of course, the lads will continue to host Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity . . and Saturday Night Takeaway. But in the current climate, it makes sense for the boys to be able to work on other channels."

Ant and Dec are favourites to win the Best Entertainment Performance prize at Sunday night's Bafta TV Awards.
