Susan Boyle talks fame on US TV interview

Susan Boyle has given her first proper TV interview since she finished as runner-up in Britain's Got Talent.

The 48-year-old - who was treated for exhaustion in London clinic The Priory shortly after losing to dance troupe Diversity in the final - discussed her new-found fame and recent health troubles in the interview, for the US TV show Today.

And she looked confident in a purple dress and new haircut.

When asked by interviewer Meredith Vieira if she had had a makeover she said, "A slight one. I brush up quite well."

She went on to describe her new-round fame as "indescribable".

"It's unbelievable," she said. "Being plucked from obscurity is a bit like going on a long journey.

"You don't know what's going to happen, how it's going to end. I don't want it to end."

The full interview will be shown on the US TV network NBC next week.
