Katie Price marries Alex Reid in Las Vegas

Notorious reality TV couple Alex Reid and Katie Price have married in a quickie ceremony at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas.

According to the Daily Mirror, they married in a 22-minute ceremony at a chapel in the Wynn Hotel.

They released an official statement: "Their decision to marry has not been made with any pre-conceived commercial plan or media deal in place, and their reason for getting married is purely down to their love for each other."

The Mirror says this conflicts with reports that the ceremony was captured for posterity by a magazine.

The statement continued: "We are very much in love and look forward to the future together. We can’t wait to get back and celebrate our marriage with our friends and family who we know fully support our wishes."

A source apparently reported that Katie hatched the plan while Alex was in the Celebrity Big Brother house and while they 'may have secured a lucrative deal for the rights to their wedding, their love is genuine'.

Ex-husband Peter Andrew, meanwhile, has bestowed his blessing on the marriage.

Speaking on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio 1 on Wednesday, he said: "As long as there's a good influence to the kids, I'm happy.

"I don't have any negative feelings inside me. As long as they're happy, great."

Peter revealed he had no prior notice the couple were getting married. "I heard about it before it was announced, I was doing a signing in Basildon.... I had no idea this was planned."
