Andy Whyment: My wife isn't keen on sexy DOI moves
21/01/2012 - 19:24

Dancing On Ice star Andy Whyment has admitted that his wife Nicola is not too keen on his sexy moves with skating partner Vicky Ogden.
Speaking to the Mirror the 32-year-old - best known for his role as Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street - said that both the dance routines and the long hours spent training were not proving popular at home.
"If I were in her shoes I don’t think I would like it either," Andy said. "It is hard, too, because I’m training every day so you are out for hours and then I am in London all weekend."
And he added that Nicola is not the only one who finds the sexy routines a bit awkward.
"I'm just not used to it," he admitted. "Honestly, in 11 years of Corrie I have only had to do three screen kisses. Kirk is not one of those characters that has had a lot of girlfriends.
"This is the most time I have spent on screen close to a girl. I just try to enjoy the entertainment side of it."
The actor - who made his debut on the ice two weeks ago and will perform a Grease-themed routine on Sunday's show - added that he does not see himself as one of the front-runners.
"I am not in the show to win it, I just take each week as it comes," he told the paper.
"It is not a competition for me, it is an experience. Yes, I want to up my game but I am doing it for me. I'll just be happy if I beat my previous score."
