Dancing on Ice: Time's up for Mark Rhodes

Children's TV presenter Mark Rhodes has become the third casualty of Dancing On Ice 2012, after losing out to former Dallas star Charlene Tilton in the skate-off.

The 30-year-old - who had been competing in the show against fellow CBBC host Sam Nixon - had managed to avoid the bottom two in his debut outing on the ice despite finishing bottom of the judges' scoreboard.

This week, he found himself in the skate-off for the first time - and after both he and Charlene had reprised their routines from the movie-themed show, the judges were unanimous in who they wanted to save.

"Mark, it's been fun having you around," Robin Cousins told him, "but I save Charlene.

And Louie Spence agreed saying, "I love your spirit Mark, but the stronger performance was Charlene."

Afterwards, Mark agreed with the judges, admitting that he had deserved to lose out.

"I'm absolutely gutted, but I was at the bottom in the first week, next to bottom second week, it makes sense for me to be in the skate-off."

"Charlene skated the second time absolutely brilliantly," he added, "and I messed up, so I'm absolutely fine with it."

Earlier in the show, Mark had scored 10.5 from the judges for his Blues Brothers inspired routine, while Charlene's Marilyn Monroe-inspired performance had scored 15.

There were also a few shocks on Sunday's results show as 80s star Corey Feldman made it through to next week despite receiving the lowest score of the series so far and surviving last weekend's skate-off.

The 40-year-old - who skated to Stand By Me, the theme from the 1986 movie of the same name in which he starred - picked up just eight points from the panel, with Robin complaining he was "walking on the ice, not gliding".

However he and partner Brooke Castile won through on the public vote, and were the first to have their names announced in the results show - with Corey greeting the news with a look of utter disbelief.

Sunday night also saw favourites Jorgie Porter and Matthew Wolfenden - performing on the same show for the first time this series - make it safely through to next weekend after they tied at the top of the scoreboard with 21.5 points each.
