Ice judge Robin 'proud of Swap Shop medal'

Robin Cousins has revealed the medal that has "pride of place at home" is not his Olympic gold but one he was awarded by a children's television show.

The figure skater, who was crowned champion at the 1980 Olympics, is now head judge on hit show Dancing On Ice.

He told ITV1's Daybreak: "It was quite interesting because obviously after 1980 Olympic gold, European gold, World Championships and all the other medals ... this one award I was invited to come and get, and it was the Multi-Coloured Swap Shop Award because it was voted for by the kids, so that still has pride of place at home."

The show, presented by Noel Edmonds, ran on the BBC on Saturday mornings from 1976 to 1982.

Robin went on to appear on stage, including a stint in The Rocky Horror Show in the West End, after winning gold at Lake Placid in 1980.
