Mikey defends Dancing on Ice's hanging judge Jason

Mikey Graham has defended vicious Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner.

Jason, dubbed 'Mr Nasty', has outraged viewers after calling former contestants Emily Atack 'lazy' and likening Sharron Davies to 'faecal matter', although he was later cleared by TV watchdog Ofcom over his jibe.

"Jason knows when he's crossed the line, but without his comments, the whole thing wouldn't be as colourful. As much as people call him the 'nasty one', they love to hear what he has to say," he said.

Mikey, the latest celebrity to get the boot from the ITV competition, claimed without Jason and his 'colourful' comments, the show wouldn't be as interesting.

"The show is what it is and there has to be different colours to make the rainbow, to make it interesting. There has to be drama, there has to be highs and lows, compliments and the opposite. It's an important ingredient for the show."
