Hells Kitchen

Hell's Kitchen is back in business with 10 fresh celebrity hopefuls and a new masterchef cooking up a storm.

Known as much for his temper as his talent, Marco Pierre White is already promising to take no prisoners as he attempts to turn the celebrities into fully fledged chefs.

"I won't be thinking of the trainees as celebrities," says Marco who has been nicknamed 'the godfather of cooking'. "What I'll be looking for is talent. I want to see tears, I want to hear laughter, I want to see people fight and I want to see people learn."

The celebrity trainee chefs, including Emmerdale's Adele Silva and Big Brother 2 winner Brian Dowling, will be separated into two teams - red and blue - and be given the tough task of creating the sort of food that is fit to be served in a top eaterie.

Contestant Abbey Clancy, who found fame on Britain's Next Top Model, may have a coped with the wrath of Janice Dickinson but can she handle the heat in Hell's Kitchen?

"I don't care who they are," says Marco. "I have a job to do and they have chosen to be part of that team and so they now have a job to do as well. If they are there for the wrong reason then they will be exposed."

In the first series of Hell's Kitchen, singer and actress Jennifer Ellison won the crown under the guidance of Gordon Ramsay, one of Marco's proteges. Then the public took their turn as Gary Rhodes and Jean Christophe-Novelli battled it out.

So, what can this year's hopefuls expect?

"Right at the beginning, I will tell the contestants the rules. Essentially, the number one rule is that I am the boss, and what I say goes."
