Carly Zucker on 'the worst two weeks of my life'

I'm a Celebrity casualty Carly Zucker says her time in the jungle was the worst two weeks of her life, not helped by 'really strange' campmates Timmy Mallet and David Van Day.

Carly told the Daily Mirror: "They're both really strange. I can't work David out. He's a nutter. There was so much playing up to the camera. We'd see Timmy and David singing their song in front of the cameras. I'd cringe for them.

"Timmy is odd. He's just over the top and eccentric about everything."

While she found Timmy's screeching hard to take, she did bond with Martina Navratilova. "We're very similar - we don't talk for the sake of it," said Carly.

"As for Simon, he's a gentleman, he looked out for me. His words were short and sweet but they meant so much. He was like a brother.

"I've made some fantastic friends in there - but it was the worst two weeks of my life. I found it really difficult not being able to see or speak to [fiance] Joe. And the boredom really got to me.

"I'm not afraid of hard work, but it was the toughest thing I've ever done. The weather was bad. There was mud everywhere. Often I was in wet clothes and freezing. Every day got harder.

"It wasn't what I expected at all. I only had one Bushtucker Trial - I felt strong and brave. Then I had a chest challenge against Martina, but the water in those balloons absolutely stank. It freaked me out how they could make me smell so bad and then make me shower in the freezing cold."

Her ally, Nicola McLean, helped her out when things became really tough: "She told me she needed me and I'd regret it if I walked. She was right. I knew I would feel like a quitter."
