I'm A Celebrity: George finishes third!

Star Trek actor George Takei has finished in third place in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The 71-year-old left the jungle on Friday evening after receiving the fewest number of public votes after the phonelines were frozen during the final.

Afterwards, Takei told Ant and Dec that he was "delirious with joy" to have been in the jungle for the duration.

"It has been a fantastic experience. I thought it would be great fun and certainly a challenge to to this but I never thought I would make it to the final three," he said.

"I can't thank the I'm A Celebrity people enough for this. It has been absolutely unforgettable."

Earlier in the evening, Takei was seen winning one course of a special farewell dinner for the remaining campers, after eating a selection of unappetising Bush tucker including locusts and cockroaches.

His departure leaves Joe Swash and Martina Navratilova to battle it out for the title of King or Queen of the Jungle, with the winner announced later on Friday evening.
