Matt Flint has been crowned champion of So You Think You Can Dance 2011 after seeing off competition from three other dancers in the final.
The 29-year-old, whose speciality is tap dancing, beat 30-year-old jazz dancer Luke Jackson into second place, with fellow finalists Katie Love and Kirsty Swain finishing third and fourth respectively.
Matt now wins £50,000 and the chance to peform in Hollywood, as well as the title of Britain's Favourite Dancer 2011.
And he appeared emotional after the results had been announced.
"What a wonderful stage to do what I have a passion for and to have everyone vote for me...I feel amazing," he said. "It's the best thing I've ever done in my life and my career."
Head judge Nigel Lythgoe added that it would be a "delight" to take Matt to Hollywood to perform.
Earlier in the show Matt performed with an American Smooth with Kirsty and a jazz routine with Katie as well as teaming up with Luke for a tap routine and performing solo.
He had been popular throughout the live shows with both the judges and viewers, managing to stay out of the bottom two for the entire series.
The final also saw Luke perform with both the girls, who also teamed up with each other to perform a dance to the Wicked song Defying Gravity.
The results show featured a performance from Jennifer Lopez, singing her new single On The Floor, while all of the previously rejected dancers from the top 20 returned to the stage to perform with the finalists during the results show.
It remains to be seen whether or not Matt will have a successor in 2012, following reports that the show was facing the axe due to poor ratings.
Although the series got off to a promising start, ratings gradually dwindled, with producers reportedly blaming the lack of viewers on the change in schedule from January to the spring.
