Alan is shown the Soapstar door

Neighbours star Alan Fletcher was voted off celebrity karaoke show Soapstar Superstar on Wednesday night.

He found himself in the sticky situation, along with Coronation Street's Tupele Dorgu, but despite some classy crooning the Australian actor had to walk.

"The sun has not set on Dr Karl [Kennedy]," he said with true defiance, but it was back on a 747 to Sydney for the actor, probably just in time to watch Aussie whack England in the one-day cricket series.

He told Soapstar host Zoe Ball: "I’ve been here longer than I ever thought I would be," before thanking all his followers for keeping him in the show up to now. "I’m blessed."

But Tupele could be in real trouble, despite surviving her third public vote last night. She's facing her fourth public vote on Thursday along with Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson.

After Tin Pan Alley it's back to Ramsay Street...
