Soapstar Final: Antony's triumph

Flamboyant Coronation Street star Antony Cotton won Soapstar Superstar on Saturday night.
The actor, who plays machinist Sean Tully, beat Emmerdale's Hayley Tammaddon in the final and made it two out of two for the Coronation Street team, after Richard Fleeshman victory in 2006.
He sang Boyzone's Love Me For A Reason and Elton John's Daniel in the final, drawing praise from judge Martine McCutcheon, who said: " Vocally that's the best performance you've given."
Antony was in tears after the result. "I was convinced it was Hayley. I'm absolutely gobsmacked."
His victory raised £200,000 for the his chosen charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
