*Strictly Come Dancing launches on Saturday, September 10 at 6.10pm on BBC1, with the series starting at the end of the month*

Everyone’s favourite dance competition is back – promising to add some sparkle to Saturday nights!

Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly kick off the ninth series with a glitzy launch event, when this year’s celebs will be paired with their professional partners.

Among the stars putting on their dancing shoes this time round are ex-footy star Robbie Savage, Sven Goran Eriksson’s ex Nancy Dell’Olio, One Show presenter Alex Jones, former soap star Jason Donovan and pop princess Holly Valance. And could astrologer Russell Grant be this year’s Ann Widdecombe?

Once they’re paired up, the couples have just a fortnight to perfect their dance moves for when the competition officially begins.

Then they will be trying to impress judges Len Goodman, Alesha Dixon, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli and the viewers at home in the hope of claiming the glitterball trophy from last year’s winner, ex-EastEnders’ star Kara Tointon.

Those who manage to waltz their way to the halfway stage will perform in a spectacular live show from Wembley Arena to raise money for Children in Need.

And to add even more pressure, this year’s grand final comes from Blackpool’s world famous Tower Ballroom – for the first time since series two. And it will be shown in 3D!

Claudia Winkleman once again joins Tess on Sunday evenings for the Results Show, while new presenter Zoe Ball will have all the latest backstage gossip in BBC2’s daily sister show It Takes Two.
