I forgive Vernon, says Tess Daly

TV presenter Tess Daly has told her husband Vernon Kay that their marriage is safe following his recent texting scandal, according to the papers.

According to the News Of The World, the Strictly Come Dancing host told a friend she had forgiven TV and radio host Kay after it emerged in the press he had sent explicit text messages to around five women.

"I've forgiven Vernon," she is reported to have said, "but he'd better not do this ever again."

And a source close to the couple told the paper, "She's realised he is the love of her life, and she wants to end speculation about their marriage."

According to reports the pair will appear together at a prominent event in the near future - possibly later this week - and are said to be in talks with the BBC about presenting a new show together.

The pair last teamed up onscreen for the celebrity duets show Just The Two Of Us.

However the paper reports that this could leave Kay - currently presenting All Star Family Fortunes on ITV1 - with a dilemma, as it could end his chances of signing another exclusive deal to appear on the network.

"Vernon is at a crossroads," said a TV insider. "He didn't think ITV would still be interested but they are.

"The BBC want him to present a new show with Tess, Channel 4 are also interested in him to host a chat show, and Sky One are throwing money at him.

"But his family life is going to come before his work for a while. He'll do whatever Tess wants him to do."
