Tess Daly cancels appearances after text scandal
13/02/2010 - 10:03

TV presenter Tess Daly has cancelled all her TV and public appearances for the next week following the recent allegations about her husband Vernon Kay.
A spokeswoman for the Strictly Come Dancing co-host told The Sun that Daly was "taking some time out" after it emerged this week that Kay, who presents ITV1's All Star Family Fortunes, had sent explicit text messages to around five women.
Daly had been scheduled to appear on The One Show on Thursday and This Morning on Friday to promote her new book The Baby Diaries: Memories, Milestones and Misadventures.
She was also due to sign copies at both a London bookshop and the Baby Show in the capital.
"We've rescheduled her diary," her spokeswoman confirmed. "But she will be signing books in due course."
"Tess is still furious with Vernon and he has a lot of explaining to do," a friend of the couple told the paper.
"She has been humiliated by someone she loves dearly and the timing could not be worse."
