Record 10.7m watch The Apprentice Final

At its peak, a record 10.7 million* people tuned in to watch Tom Pellereau win the seventh series of The Apprentice on Sunday night.

According to the Media Guardian and BARB figures, The Apprentice averaged 9.1 million (36.3 percent audience share) over its entire two hours, while 10.5 million watch between 9.45pm and 10pm and it peaked at 10.7 million.

The seventh series final beat the 8.6 million average (32.7 percent) who watched Stella English win the sixth series in December last year, and the 8.8 million who watched the final of the fifth series in June 2009.

Inventor Tom had one of the worst records as a contestant during the series, but his eye for new products appealed to Lord Sugar, while the three other finalists produced sketchy business plans in the race for the £250,000 investment.
