Cheryl Cole to discuss marriage split on TV

Cheryl Cole is set to reveal the full story of her split from husband Ashley Cole in an interview on ITV1.

The X Factor judge - who separated from the Chelsea footballer after it was revealed he had cheated on her with four other women - will talk in detail to Piers Morgan about the break-up.

The one-hour special is due to be aired on ITV1 in May.

According to the News Of The World Cheryl had agreed to do the interview with Morgan before splitting from Cole, after he pitched the idea to her at the National TV Awards in January.

"She knows that Piers will handle it well. She feels safe in his hands," an insider told the paper.

"And she knows that if it is on TV, people can hear it from her direct in her own words."

Meanwhile, as Cheryl returned to the UK yesterday after appearing on the Danish version of The X Factor, friends revealed they were worried about her coping without her husband.

"It's a case of the initial anger fading and the sadness and loneliness setting in," a source said.

"She's insistent this is only a trial separation and is carefully considering if there's a way she can move the relationship forward."
