Dizzee's talent show won't 'manufacture' stars

Dizzee Rascal has dubbed The X Factor a 'marketing tool' and claimed his TV talent show will allow artists to be 'independent'.

The chart-topper has signed up to be a judge on new Sky1 talent show Must Be The Music, along with Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri and jazz sensation Jamie Cullum.

He told the Radio Times that The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent are 'just another massive marketing tool', adding: "No discredit to that, but we're giving the artists room to be independent. Being an independent artist, I can appreciate that.

"It's a really good thing. We don't try to grab on to them and manufacture them."

The new show aims to find Britain's most exciting music hopefuls, from opera singers, to buskers, rappers or steel pan players.

The finalists will have their songs placed on iTunes, be handed £100,000 and perform at Wembley Arena.
