Don't call us Jedward, say X Factor twins

X Factor auditionees Twem have told viewers not to compare them to John and Edward, saying they are completely different to the Irish twosome.

Parisienne twins Samir and Medhi, whose audition was seen on Saturday night's show, said of the pair, "They're good guys but we're definitely not the same.

"We don't have the hair and we can sing. They're here to joke and that's not what we're all about.

"We are twins but we are very different. We're not Jedward in French."

The two divided the judges on Saturday with Cheryl and Louis giving the thumbs up to their version of Lady Gaga's Just Dance, with the lyrics changed to Just Twem.

However Simon Cowell was less keen, citing the "Jedward effect" on the show. "This is the effect you’re now having. The two monsters you created are now spreading across Europe. Here it comes back again," he said.

But Samir added, "It made us want to try hard to impress him. We want Simon Cowell to like us."

Despite the mogul's reservations, Louis and Cheryl's support won the pair a place at boot camp."
