Jedward: 'We could be the new Ant and Dec'

The X Factor rejects John And Edward have set their sights on becoming the next Ant and Dec.

Jedward were voted out of ITV's talent show on Sunday night and are now plotting their next career, setting themselves the modest ambition of replicating TV's most popular double-act.

The 18-year-old twins told the Daily Star: "We love Ant and Dec - they have been so successful because everyone loves them."

And the Grimes brothers reckon there are similarities between the four of them.

"They are unique and do their own thing, like us. And like us they started out as singers," they said. "Their song Let's Get Ready To Rhumble was brilliant. If we are like them that would be unbelievable."

The twins had a tough run in the X Factor with head judge Simon Cowell describing them as 'vile little creatures' and threatened to leave the country if the pair won. However, by the time they left the brothers had charmed the influential music mogul.

John said: "I think it's so cool that we managed to turn Simon. He called us vile, but by the end he said he would miss us."
