The X Factor: Diana's 'handy' advice for fans

X Factor finalist Diana Vickers has hit back at fans of the show who have begged her to stop touching her face while she sings.

The 17-year-old's 'wandering hands' have become the subject of much internet debate in recent weeks, even inspiring a string of Facebook groups in which viewers demand she cuts out the hand gestures.

"She has a cute voice and is quite quirky," one person complains, "but watching her is very very irritating."

Another person added, "Yes, you have a hand, yes you have a face, but you don't need to caress it every week."

However Diana told The Mirror she has no intention of cutting back on the hand movements, saying she "can't control the beasts".

"Some people have a problem with me, I am like a magnet to it all," she said. "But I would rather people adore me or despise me than go 'she's all right' as that's boring."

Diana remains favourite to win the series at 6-4, ahead of Eoghan Quigg at 2-1.

Spanish siren Ruth Lorenzo is favourite to be booted off Saturday night's Britney Spears-themed show. The 25-year-old - Dannii Minogue's last remaining act in the contest - is evens to get the chop, according to bookies Paddy Power.

Last remaining group JLS - who survived the sing-off last week - are second favourites at 15-8.
