News Feeds

What are news feeds?

News feeds, also called RSS feeds, are a format for delivering regularly updated Web content.

When you subscribe to a news feed, updated information is automatically downloaded to your computer in a format that can be viewed in dedicated feed-reading programs and newer versions of Internet Explorer and other browsers.

This allows you to keep up to date with a variety of sources of news and information without having to regularly check their Web sites.

How do I get the news feeds?

Copy the address of one of the news feeds into the reader program or the news feed section of the browser (see the browser help menu for details) and it will display the headline and a short synopsis of the story. Clicking on a link will take you to the full story.

Where can I get a news reader?

There are a variety of different news readers available. Different news readers work with different operating systems, so you'll have to pick the right one for your computer.

Popular news readers can be found at Google.
