Stephanie and Gian Luca bid farewell to 'Dance'

Stephanie Powell and Gian Luca Loddo have become the latest finalists to be voted off So You Think You Can Dance 2011. The pair - both of whom were saved by the judges on last Saturday's show - ran out of luck after they once again found themselves in the dance-off, having performed together earlier in the evening. This week they found themselves up against Rithy Pereira and Shane Collard - and after all four had performed solo routines in a bid to impress the judges, Gian Luca and Stephanie learned the bad news. However Nigel Lythgoe revealed that the decision over the girls was by no means unanimous, with two judges voting to save Stephanie and two voting to save Rithy - and the final vote falling to the producers. But they were unanimous when it came to the boys. "Shane, you were the only one of the dancers this evening who showed what dancing for your life really means," Nigel said, "and for that reason you are staying with us." He did however add that "neither of you deserve to be in the bottom two this week but the British public have voted and we have to make that decision". Afterwards Gian Luca said he was "proud" of what he had achieved on the show while Stephanie described the experience as "wonderful". Sixteen finalists now remain in the competition to be crowned Britain's favourite dancer. Among the performances on Saturday evening's show were a cha cha cha and a Bollywood routine. The results show also featured a performance from boy band Blue, performing their Eurovision entry I Can.
